👀 Things to Look Out For!
It’s been another content-filled month down at BMP, with a key focus on variety! We have produced new cases questions of the week and branched out with information posts on Money and Mental Health, and Wellbeing!
When deciding to create these case questions, we wanted to focus on the diversity within Medicine, as this can be an area that can be glossed over. We looked at skin presentations in darker skin tones and different medical treatments in different races in our latest clinical vignettes! Check them out now!
We were also keen on continuing our well-received information posts with a particular focus on ‘Money Management’ and ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing’.

1. Ifrah - (IG: by.ifrah)

She is working on a separate Instagram (theuniproj) where she will be using her platform to discuss important topics within Medicine and provide the occasional book review. Keep on shining, Ifrah!

Dalton is a second-year Medical student at University College London, who uses his social media platforms to ‘show the insights of life as a litty black medic!’ You can find him on Youtube, Twitter and TikTok, too, under the name ‘Daltz CB’ where he is indeed adding his unique touch to being a ‘Medfluencer’. Keep on shining, Dalton!
💎 BMP Recommendations
Our favourite part of the newsletter! Here, we will be giving our monthly recommendations of content that would be of value to you!
Liam
I would recommend this video on self-motivation by the inspirational Mike Rashid, a fitness influencer. I came across this video at the right time as I look forward to applying these philosophies to my gym and fitness practice (seeing as gyms are soon reopening) and my studies, especially when preparing for upcoming exams. Towards the end of the video, he also mentions that “your confidence should be based on work ethic”. With that being said, this means that you should not be arrogant or conceited but instead be confident and proud of the things you work for.
Sharon
A video I would recommend would be one by Vee Kativhu (author and Harvard postgrad), where she discusses her study technique! She uses a specific type of targeted spaced repetition that helps to consolidate her learning. I look forward to applying this skill in the next coming months!
Victor
A resource I would recommend would be ‘Instant Anatomy’. They have excellent podcast episodes on different body systems, and it’s a great way to learn some anatomy on the go! The website also has some nice overviews of various anatomy topics and clear diagrams.
